Editor’s Pick

Alexandrite Individual

A ₦1.8 million health coverage at over 800 hospitals, 150+ more than that allowed for its Red Beryl plan including access to gym and spa at just ₦6,000 per month, this is our top pick plan to go for.

Alexandrite is a medium-sized Reliance HMO plan which covers wellness and health checks including that for eye and dental.

If you love the gym, this is the best plan for you as it comes with 2 sessions per week, which is one more than the basic alternative.

For cases that might demand surgery, Alexandrite will bear the cost of up to ₦300, 000 which is 100% more than the Red Beryl.

Annual: ₦66, 250Quarterly: ₦17, 750Monthly: ₦6, 000

This is the recommended plan as you will enjoy a 6% plus discount compared to lower options hence, saving some money.

Reliance health insurance’s Alexandrite plan cost ₦66, 250 annually which is up to 7% cheaper compared to its quarterly and monthly payment bases.

To subscribe to the quarterly plan, you will have to pay ₦17, 750 every 3 months which will be a total of ₦71, 000 at the end of each year.

At this pricing, this is about 1.4% cheaper than the monthly plan but over 6% higher compared to the yearly alternative.

This is the flexible monthly option and it will cost you ₦6, 000 per month, which is a total of ₦71, 000 at the end of the year.

The reason we prefer you opt for the annual or better still the quarterly option is that each of the options comes with graduated benefits which improve based on how long you continue to renew.

Once you missed a payment, you get downgraded losing all earned benefits.

Nevertheless, you can get the monthly plan and upgrade to annual or quarterly once you are ready.

  • A medical coverage worth ₦1.8 million a year
  • Access to health specialists five times per year
  • ₦300,000 for 14 different surgeries available every year.
  • Free wellness and health checks at selected Reliance health insurance centres
  • Access to eye and dental care
  • Access to gym (2 sessions per week) and spa (once per year)

Red Beryl Individual

Reliance HMO’s Red Beryl is the cheapest plan starting at just ₦3, 500 per month.

This package gives you health insurance coverage worth ₦1.2 million per year, accessible from over 700 hospitals nationwide.

If you want to stay fit and build some muscles, this plan also comes with access to the gym, though once per week.

As against Alexandrite’s ₦300, 000 coverage for surgery cases, this plan gives you maximum insurance worth ₦150, 000 which is limited to 9 different kinds of surgeries.

While the Red Beryl Individual Reliance HMO’s plan does not give you as much as the Alexandrite, this still has good coverage which makes it worth considering.

Annual: ₦38, 650Quarterly: ₦10, 350Monthly: ₦3, 500

If you want to consider the Red Beryl plan, consider getting the annual payment option and save over 7% compared to buying the lower insurance packages.

To subscribe for the quarterly plan, you will have to pay ₦10, 350 every 3 months which will be a total of ₦41, 400 at the end of each year.

This is the flexible monthly option for the Red Beryl Individual plan which will cost you ₦3, 500 per month, which is a total of ₦42, 000 annually.

Just as suggested with the Alexandrite Reliance insurance plan, opting for an annual or quarterly plan keep you safe from missing out on graduated benefits.

If you miss a payment, you get downgraded losing all earned benefits prompting a fresh build-up once you renew your subscription.

But then, you can get the monthly plan and upgrade to annual or quarterly in the future.

One good side of this plan is the home medication delivery which means the patients do not have to visit the health centres as the needed medication will be delivered to them.
