First Bank FirstEdu Loans

Every Private School owner wants to run his\her school as smoothly as possible while leaving his students and their parents greatly satisfied, but to be able to do that, they will need a large number of funds to ensure the school operations are run efficiently.

FirstEdu loans are provided by First Bank to enable private school owners to run their schools properly and smoothly. Private schools (be it a nursery, primary, secondary or tertiary school) registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), with or without the approval of the Ministry of Education are eligible to apply for this loan.

The maximum loan amount sums up to N20 million with a loan tenor of 90 days to 12 months. But for schools registered with CAC but not Ministry-approved, the maximum amount accessible is N2 million for 90 days. With this loan, it is also possible to finance operational school vehicles (school buses) and acquire assets of up to N20 million for a duration of 24 months. The collateral for this loan is the undertaking to domicile school fees with First Bank.

LSETF – This is an intervention fund that targets schools and other relevant educational institutions in SME & ME categories. It is for schools that have been operational for a period of over a year and has a minimum of 100 students. The Max amount is N5 million and has a fixed interest rate of 9% per annum. For an amount of N1 million or less, there is a fixed duration of 12 months or less. But for an amount of N1 million or greater than N1m, there is a fixed duration of 24 months. To be eligible for this program, you must have the following:

  1. At least 100 students registered at your school.
  2. A clean credit report.
  3. Evidence of tax payments.
  4. Must be a resident of Lagos state.
  5. School or institute must have been registered with CAC and operational for at least a year.

 Required documents include:

  1. Application form.
  2. CAC documents.
  3. Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  4. Evidence of payments of Tax.
  5. LASRRA ID (Lagos State Residency Registration) of borrower.
  6. One guarantor who has a verifiable LASRRA (below N500,000).
  7. Two guarantors must have a LASRRA (above N500,000).

For this loan, the minimum loan amount is N5 million. The duration is either 90 or 180 days. To be eligible for this loan, you are required to have a charged savings account with an amount of up to 5% of the facility amount and a subsequent deposit of 0.5% of the loan amount daily during the tenor of 180 days and 1% of the loan amount daily throughout the tenor of 90 days.
